The second Annual tranSMART meeting 2014

The tranSMART Foundation, a non-profit organization providing a global, open-source knowledge management platform for scientists to share pre-competitive translational research data, was held October 14-16 at the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, MI.

The second Annual tranSMART meeting saw a record-breaking show-up of 130 participants from across the globe with a strong TraIT representation: Gerrit Meijer, Jan-Willem Boiten, Kees van Bochove and Gustavo dos Santos Lopes gave presentations or lead working sessions. In the previous meeting (Paris; November 2013) an extensive roadmap for tranSMART was outlined for 2014; it was very impressive to see that this roadmap was completely realised in the recently released version 1.2 of tranSMART. At the present meeting the participants worked in various working groups  to determine, amongst others, a similar roadmap for 2015. Hopefully, it will be completed with a similar success rate.
