Ldot

Ldot is a web-based tool, designed to monitor the study logistics and guard the progress of your research project

Ldot supports the study workflow by indicating which actions should be performed for which study subject at what time point. Ldot can be configured to give this information in different ways: as Email notifications, as action list and via a graphical calendar. Particularly in studies with a larger number of participants and/or studies with more complex or longitudinal schedules, Ldot can be of great help. Also in multicentre studies, using Ldot is recommended.

Ldot is designed specifically for use in settings where safe storage of personal data needed for your protocol is desirable.  The web application stores only personal and logistical data and is not designed to store research data. Ldot conforms to the Dutch data protection act WBP and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will replace the WBP as from May 2018.

Since Ldot does not support storage of research data in order to guarantee the anonymity of these data, you should use another tool to capture and store your research data. TraIT offers OpenClinica for storage of research data and interoperability between Ldot and OpenClinica has meanwhile been developed. Ldot is also able to communicate with other data collection tools, e.g. Castor EDC for CRF and online questionnaires and Qualtrics for online questionnaires. Please contact service desk if you have questions about this functionality.

The Study Builder, which is implemented in Ldot, allows investigators to design and build their own schedule.

Ldot is developed by MEMIC, centre for data and information management of Maastricht University, and has proven its use over more than 10 years.

In a production phase, Ldot is available at a yearly cost per study. Please contact the service desk for more information.
